Award of Northumbrian Water’s "Water Distribution Maintenance Service" Contract
Fastflow, the utility infrastructure services provider, has won the clean water contract for the Asset Management Period 5 with Northumbrian Water commencing April 2010. The contract is likely to be worth approximately £200m over a 10 year period. Fastflow will become Northumbrian Water’s sole Clean Water Contractor with responsibility for carrying out water network rehabilitation / renewal work, new connections, repair and maintenance, reinstatement and metering works.
Neil Armstrong, owner and Chief Executive Officer, believes the business is now well positioned to continue to deliver excellent service to current clients and to develop other revenue streams through the company’s network rehabilitation, trunk mains cleaning and smart systems capabilities.
“This contract represents a major milestone for Fastflow: we’re an ambitious company and it provides us with a stable platform from which we can continue to grow the business.”
“We faced stiff competition from many of the larger, well known utility contractors, so it’s testament to every employee within Fastflow that Northumbrian Water has chosen to renew such a critical contract with us”
Richard Seales, Northumbrian Water’s Distribution Operations and Maintenance Manager (Water) said: “We are very pleased with the appointment of Fastflow and see them as a key partner in driving improvements in performance throughout the delivery of investment in water networks in the next AMP and beyond.
“We are confident that Fastflow will assist us in maintaining serviceability and excelling in delivery of a first class customer service embracing our approach of Right First Time Every Time.”
